Microsoft’s last version of SBS server is the 2011 version and that is now no longer being sold by Microsoft:
This is a big blow to many small businesses as it was a relatively low-budget way to get the full capability of an in house exchange server without the usual costs associated with Microsoft Exchange.
The reason being that Microsoft now have a service called Office 365. You can move your email domain to Microsoft and using Outlook access an exchange style service that’s “in the cloud”. Many of our customers do not like the idea of Microsoft having such a potential hold on their businesses and so we have sought out two alternatives for hosted exchange.
Both give you full exchange services without tying yourself directly to Microsoft. Please contact us if you are interested in hearing more about Hosted Exchange services.
